Henry has been trying to capture two little squirrels for weeks. About six weeks ago he told me the painter told him he noticed roof rats on top of the house. I'm terrified of rodents and knowing that one was on own our property made me squeal. I asked him if he was sure and he said he had hear some noise on top of the house. Whew! glad they turned out to be homeless squirrels instead of rats (yikes)Henry was unsuccessful in capturing the little creatures until Perry our neighbor across the street came to his aid. Perry bought over a trap which they baited with cat food to lure the critters in the trap. Two weeks go by, no squirrel, just some hungry bird took the bait. Last week the critters fell off the top of the house and landed on the top of Henry's truck. He says he heard a loud bang outside and went outside to only find fur balls on the hood of his truck. Squirrels were no where to be seen :(
This moring I heard B.J. at the front door barking up a storm to get outside. I ignored him, thinking he only saw the neighbor's cat or another dog outside. He kept barking and whining to get outside. I finally went to investigate what it was that had B.J so upset, and BAM there he was, finally the trap had worked. Well today was our lucky day, one down and one more to go. Hopefully the other one will have sense and leave the permise before he's too captured and sent back to the wild. :)
I use to think squirrels were kinda cute, especially when you see them running around in the park, no longer the case since they took up resident at our place. Oh so sad ,we had to call in reinforcement inorder to get the once cute little critters to leave.
Just as Henry was about to take the critter back to his home, Perry came over and offered to release the critter back into the wild.
