Happy Easter
Our day started with us attending the 7:30 service and then Sunday School. We didn't prepare a large dinner, kept it simple with a ham, squash, asparagus, garlic mashed potatoes, and lemon cream cheese pie for dessert. I wanted to dye eggs but Henry and Harrington didn't want to play with food coloring and makers, so instead I made chocolate covered treats and Cake Pops for Sunday School students.

I've been busy the last couple of weeks with Easter projects and favors. These will be thank you gifts for guest at friend's daughter's Cotillion tonight.. The tins are stuffed with packages of Peanut M&M's the guest of honor's favorite candy. Yellow is her favorite color and she likes butterflies so I use them as accent on both the tin and mini Martinelli's juice bottles. I added a little bling to the butterfly accents. Need to put the brakes on, so I can get our income taxes completed..this more enjoyable :)

Drivers Permit
Henry and Harrington were up and about very early Friday morning to avoid the long lines at the DMV.
Harrington successfully passed the AZ Drivers written exam to receive his driving permit. He was so excited with his score (28/30). I think he was more excited with his score, in that he was the only applicant to pass the exam that morning. Now we just need patience and self-contol during the next phase of obtaining a drivers license. I just hope he asks Henry to taking him driving instead of me :)

Memory Lane
Childhood photos of my first cousins Keith, Earl, and my oldest brother Anthony.
Earl and Keith were like big brothers to Anthony. They are so handsome in their Sunday outfits(top photo).
I'm in the process of digitally scrapbooking a family heritage album. Many years these photos were mounted with black photos corner tabs in an vintage photo album. My goal is to complete this project before our family reunion in July. I'm anxious to see the expressions on their faces and their children' who've probably never seen many of these old photos of their parents. Saturday, February 4, 2012
Saturday Afternoon
Here are some digital scrapbook pages I created this afternoon.

These photos were taken when my Daddy killed a Bobcat while hunting on his family property.
My sibiling and I along with our neighbors the Blows and Grays were curious and excited to examine this cat. I never imagained a Bobcat living in Northern Louisiana.
Dad and his cat were featured in the parish newspaper.

Martin Luther King Day, 2012
Another year has come and gone and I ask again "Do We Still Dream"?
Somethings have changed while others remained the same this past year. Funding for Education continues to be low, but passionate teachers keeping teaching. Gas prices continue to yo-yo. Retirement age continues to increase. Homeless faces are no longer middle-age men, but families. The soaring cost of higher education has shattered or haltered many dreams. Political parties spend more time finding fought and indifferences amongest each other, instead of fighting and standing for the common good of all.
Our FAITH remains the same, the one thing that allows us to keep Dreaming. As I look around the city and see so many foreclosure signs and abandon buildings I believe soon and very soon this economy will get better. When all isn't well in our country, our communities, and our homes, we have faith to believe in brighter days and that change will come. I will continue to dream for Change, a change for all that is right in the sight of God. One that will allow his perfect will to be done in the lives of his people. So as we journey through another year I will continue to Dream of a better day for my family, yours, our children, and our children's children. Why? Because God said it, and I BELIEVE IT!
"Like anybody, I would like to live a long life. Longevity has its place. But I'm not concerned about that now. I just want to do God's will. And He's allowed me to go up to the mountain. And I've looked over. And I've seen the promised land. I may not get there with you. But I want you to know tonight, that we, as a people will get to the promised land." Food Network's Next Star
My sister showing off her culinary skills. My niece took this photo of Amelia putting the finishing touches on their Sunday dinner. I'm available to be her booking agent. :)
January 17, 2012: I created this digital scrapbook page of my twin sister Amelia. The Sunday spread and her pose warranted a magazine cover. Who knows Sis, maybe we can take our talents on the road.. :) :)

Happy 16th Birthday
My, oh My! another year has come and gone and our little boy is now a sixteen year old young man. Soon he'll be driving and moving on .. :(
Harrington celebrated his 16th birthday at the Fiesta Bowl with his friend Daniel. He enjoyed the game and all the pregame activities. He insisted I take his picture with his cool sunglasses on, that he received at the game. He was all smiles when he got home from the game to see we had gotten a Strawberry Cheesecake ,
(his favorite cake)for his birthday. Yummy!
