Back to College-January 4
Enjoyed being home with the family and friends, but got to get back to the studies. |
He was overjoyed to be home in the Valley of the Sun and spending time with us and his friends. I think he was a little disappointed to leave so soon, in that many of his friends were returning mid or late January. Classes resume at GSU on Wednesday, January 7. I sure hated to see him leave on Sunday, January 4, prayerfully the next fours months will pass faster than the last.

Happy New Year
Another year has come and gone..... and so begins another chapter in ours lives here in the Valley of the Sun. I am so thankful for God's Amazing Grace that we are still standing STRONG!.
2014 we endured great sorrow and separation. June 30, 2014 my beloved father died of lung cancer. Dad was very courageous through out his battle and I am so thankful that God answered my prayer that he not suffer. He went to Glory peacefully in his sleep. Later I thought of what an awesome way to for the Master to call one home, to be in the state of complete rest (Peace). I miss my Daddy dearly and sometimes find myself crying my eyes out and wanting one more chance to hold tightly to those big callous hands or feel the scratch of his beard on my face as he hugs and squeezes me tightly and tell me like only a Daddy can he loves me. I know if he was here he would say "Aha Suga, it don't take all that, you gonna be alright".
Harrington graduated in May of last year and has successfully completed his first semester of college at Grambling State University. Leaving Harrington alone was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. I never thought the separation would be so hard. I couldn't understand why I was struggling so hard to leave this 18 year old alone when I didn't feel this way when I had to leave him many a days with babysitters. Then it clicked, I couldn't pick him up at end of the work day or get to him in 30 minutes or less if he needed his Mommy :(
As the months passed we all acclimated to the new changes in ours lives and guess what ..It's ALL GOOD!.. We Harris' now truly know that absences makes the heart grow fonder. Harrington will return to college soon and Henry and I will once again enjoy our neat and tidy nest till the "big baby bird" returns in May.
We look forward to the challenges and joys to come this year all because we have hope and faith in the Lord and know that his Love, Grace and Mercy will keep and sustain us. It's my prayer that each day we're walking in our purpose and destined to be all God has us to be in this season of our lives.
My goal this year is to blog more often than I did last year. Ironically Harrington never mentioned reading our blog to me before leaving for college but recently mentioned the blog needed to be updated. Happy to know that the guys do appreciate me journaling our life experiences. With that said ....be sure to click and visit us often in the Valley of the Sun via the www(world wide web)
