Happy New Year's Eve
The Pearsons returned home to Maryland this afternoon. I enjoyed having my sister with me the last ten days, sad to see her go. :( . I spent the afternoon cruising across town to several Hallmark stores to purchase christmas ornaments at 50% off. We have been collecting Hallmark African American ornaments for about 15 years. Henry had to work so Harrington, B.J. and I spent the evening playing games and watching movies.

Harrington and I tagged along with the Pearsons to Las Vegas. It took us over 6 hours to get to Vegas due to holiday traffic and tourist at Hoover Dam. There's always something new and exciting on the Las Vegas Strip. We enjoyed walking the strip and checking out all the new and not so new casinos. It was very cold and windy on the strip. The weather didn't keep the tourist inside. We got a chance to visit with our friends Leiestra and Preston. Did you know there's red rock in Las Vegas? Well just like Sedona, Las Vegas has Red Rock Canyon. The next time you're in Las Vegas venture off the strip to see this natural wonder.

Sunday, December 27
Harrington pose with the Pearsons outside church this chilly morning. Harrington along with 12 teenagers from FIBC attended a formal dinner at the home of our pastor and his wife this evening. Check out my handsome young man :) Henry and I took the Pearsons out to Pappadeaux for dinner, one of their favorite restaurants in Phoenix.

Saturday, December 26
Amelia prepared breakfast for us this morning. She made her famous blueberry pancakes. After breakfast we took the Pearsons to Fry's Electronics, they purchase everything except that HORSE to go with those boots. I can't believe they actually worn them today. They thought they were tough-stuff strutting their new kicks. After Amelia got off her high horse (ha!ha!) we spent the remaining of the day making cards.

Merry Christmas
Somebody in our house was as excited as a 5 yr. old on Christmas morning. Harrington was so excited this morning he could barely contain himself. He was rushing everyone to get up so we could open the presents. He had taken B.J. for a nice long walk before I got up this morning, without Henry or I asking. I'll let you know if he takes initiative to do it again tomorrow morning.
He was so excited when we finally opened the presents to see he finally got a PS3. In his mind this is the ultimate video game system.
Our friend Cynthia had Christmas dinner with us today and brought the most delicious ham.(yummy)
Henry's a Laker fan so after dinner we watched the Lakers-Cavaliers game. The Lakers lost.

Christmas Eve
Henry was off today so he and Harrington cooked breakfast. After breakfast we adventured out to the mall for some last minute shopping. The Pearsons enjoy going shopping Christmas Eve. I would have preferred to stay away from the mall today. The hustle and bustle does aid in the holiday cheer. Shopping on Christmas Eve is one of my favorite childhood memories. Amelia and Clyde bought cowboy boots. Saturday we're going to take them to purchase a horse to go with those boots(LOL)
Wednesday, December 23
The Pearsons arrived late Tuesday evening. I made breakfast this morning and again that male teenager of mine was most helpful. Christmas should be celebrated monthly if it stimulates this much initiative in a teenager. It was a little chilly here today, so we stayed in all day. We played around with B.J. in the backyard. Later that evening we went shopping at Costco. Harrington and I challenged Amelia and Clyde in a game of dominos. I must say Harrington's dominos skills have improved tremendously.

Harrington and I were busy preparing for the Pearsons arrival. He was anxious to assist me in preparing and cleaning the house for the Pearsons arrival. I was beginning to wonder if I was dreaming or was it the side effects of my cold medication, because this surely wasn't the same child I just threaten 10 days ago to clean his bedroom. B.J. had a little out-patient surgery today. The doctor said he was a very good patient. He was enjoying all of the attention. I must admit he is spoiled. :)
