Hobby
hobby: an activity or interest pursued for pleasure or relaxation and not as a main occupation
Papercrafting is one of my favorite hobbies. It allows me to be as creative and different as I choose. It is truly a huge stress reliever. I recently upgraded my digital scrapbook software and decided to play around with it today using my current photo subject. I love this photo of Mr. B's big brown eyes. He knows just when to use them to get exactly what he wants.. Something special about them that casts a spell over all us to put us at his will :). The eyes will get you every time.

Fall
Thanksgiving has come and gone and yet Henry and I have survived another Thanksgiving without Harrington. Even though it was just me, Henry and BJ we cooked a turkey. The aromatic scent of the turkey roasting in the oven evoked precious memories of past Thanksgivings and reminded me how blessed we truly are even if our nest is almost empty.
Fall has finally arrived in the Valley of the Sun and just as the temperature is finally dropping and I was enjoying the Fall colors it's time to put away the Fall Home Decor and get ready for Christmas.
Henry assembled the Christmas tree early last week and discovered that after some fifteen years our pre-lit tree has lost some of its glow. Repairing or buying new lights was added to his "honey do list". He finally got around to replacing the lights Wednesday night only to realize he didn't purchase enough and he says I'm the one who doesn't properly measure things. (LOL!!)
Tomorrow we'll finish decorating the tree and put away the Fall decorations and begin our count down for Harrington's Homecoming (3 weeks) :)

Sissy's Southern Kitchen
The restaurant was recently featured in one of my favorite magazines, Southern Living and wanted to check it out whenever we were in the Dallas area again. We were pleasantly please with the atmosphere, service, and food. Henry said the fried chicken tasted liked his Mama's ... So check it out the next time you're in Dallas.

Summer 2015
Summer will soon come to end and my all time favorite season will begin, FALL :).
A lot happen this summer....
A lot happen this summer....
- May-Harrington came home after completing first year of college at Grambling State University
- June-Harrington started summer job
- June 30-Henry RETIRED: Yes after 30 years with Arizona Law Enforcement the badge and gun are off and the Patrol Car is gone. We had known this time would come this year but I just couldn't accept the fact that he would actually be done the last day of June. Well, reality set-in when the patrol car was no longer parked in the driveway and he didn't wear uniform the last week of work. 30 years came and went faster than any of us expected. I'm thankful that Henry had a career he enjoyed, met and assisted some awesome people and many opportunities to represent the department. Most of all I'm so thankful that God's Amazing Grace kept and protected him from seen and unforeseen danger for all those years.
- July-Traveled to Las Vegas to attend the NBA Summer League. We had a great time watching all the rookies and catching a glimpse of current and former NBA players, coaches and personnel. We even had an opportunities to spend sometime with our dear friends, the Hensons.

- August-Harrington returned back to college for his sophomore year. While down south, Henry and I took time to visit with some old and very dear friends in Dallas, Texas and Jackson, Mississippi. It has been some time since we've seen The Reed's (J.W., Essie, & Zoe). We truly enjoyed their fabulous southern hospitality and just having the time to sit and visit with them. After getting Harrington all set-up at college we ventured off to Jackson to visit our recently retired brother, Willie Hinds. We have loved him like a brother since meeting him 22 years ago at church. Since his transfer from Phoenix in 2000, he was promoted and moved up and down the south and east coast yet our relationship remained and we're so blessed to have seen God do some amazing things during his awesome 22 year career with the FBI.
